Working at Height Conference & Awards: A Focus on Access Industry Best Practices
The Working at Height Conference & Awards recently took place in Nashville, Tennessee, bringing together professionals from various sectors of the access and construction industries. Co-organized by Access, Lift & Handlers (ALH) magazine and the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), this event served as a platform for advancing innovation and effective practices for Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs).
The event’s program included a blend of networking opportunities, industry speakers, and an awards dinner to recognize some of the industry’s best. The conference itself featured a lineup of experts and thought leaders, sharing valuable knowledge on the evolving landscape of MEWP safety and technology.
As one of the sponsors of the event, WIKA Mobile Control showcased several products for the access industry. One of the featured products was the qSCALE I2 TH rated capacity indicator for telehandlers. This system is designed to reduce operator error and maximize the machine's lifting capacity, thus preventing potential accidents and costly mistakes.
In addition to the qSCALE I2 TH system, WIKA Mobile Control also featured their latest Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and Platform Control Unit (PCU) for scissor lifts. This system controls scissor lift functions, including driving, steering, braking, and lifting movements.
As the industry continues to evolve, events like this will be crucial in shaping the future of MEWP use and height safety practices. As technology continues to evolve, products like the qSCALE I2 TH and the new ECU/PCU systems will play a pivotal role in minimizing risk and improving overall operational efficiency on construction sites.
