#rated capacity indication
Rated Capacity Indication (RCI) focuses solely on the weight of the load being lifted, without considering the weight of the boom. It uses direct force measurements to determine the actual load and radius to calculate the allowable load. Unlike systems that use pressure sensors, an RCI relies on various force sensors and load links to measure the force on the hoist line. The RCI provides warnings if the load approaches or exceeds the crane’s rated capacity. It also shows where you are on the load chart, indicating the current lift and the maximum weight that can be lifted at a specific position.
