Highlights from the 2024 SC&RA Crane & Rigging Workshop
The 2024 SC&RA Crane & Rigging Workshop took place from September 24-26, 2024 in Phoenix, AZ. Hosted by the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA), this annual event gathered over 700 industry professionals for three days of educational sessions, hands-on exhibits, and networking opportunities.
With more than 1,400 members, SC&RA consists of companies involved in specialized transportation, machinery moving and erecting, and crane and rigging operations. The workshop serves as an annual event for attendees to exchange ideas, explore new technologies, and strengthen industry connections.
WIKA Mobile Control at the Exhibit Center
One of the highlights of the workshop was the Exhibit Center, where 88 companies showcased the latest in equipment, technology, and services. At the WIKA Mobile Control booth, we introduced several of our new products. The focus was on the new APEX SAI stand-alone indicator, which was designed for mobile cranes, but is versatile enough to be used in a wide range of other applications. The system supports the wireless connection of up to two anti-two-block switches and one wind speed sensor. Attendees had the opportunity to see the APEX SAI in action with a live system, where they could explore various system display and menu options available.
Also on display were the vSCALE E3 touchscreen console and CTL-S700 safety controller for mobile machines. These new products are part of our ongoing commitment to developing technology that helps improve operator efficiency and performance in lifting applications.
The WMC team was happy to welcome attendees to the booth, having insightful discussions and sharing valuable industry knowledge. It was clear from the conversations that the crane and rigging industry is embracing new technologies, with a strong focus on operator efficiency and innovation.
